Eligibility Criteria of Assam Police Recruitment
Nationality: Candidates must be Indian Citizen, permanent resident of Assam. Selected candidates will have to submit Proof of Residence after publication of the final select list.
Local Language Proficiency: Candidates must speak Assamese or any other State language fluently.
Age Limit: The age of the candidate should not be more than 50 years as on 1st January 2023. Candidate must be born on or after 1st January 1973.

Age Relaxation: The category-wise age relaxation is as mentioned below.
◾ SC, ST (P) and ST(H): 5 years
◾ OBC/ MOBC: 3 years
Educational Qualification:
Civil Education: Candidates who have passed HSLC or equivalent from any recognized Board or Council.
Service Qualification: Candidates should have the following service qualifications to be eligible for the recruitment.
a) Constable and Head Constable: Those who retired in the rank of Sepoy to Havildar in the Army or equivalent rank in the Navy or Air Force.
b) Sub-Inspector and Inspector: Those who retired in the rank of Naib Subedar or above in the Army or equivalent rank in the Navy or Air Force.
Note: Ex-Servicemen who retired as Havildar or in an equivalent rank, but with 15 years or more of service, have the option to apply for the Sub-Inspector position instead of Constable/Head Constable, but not for both.
Application Fee: No application fee is to be paid by candidates.

vi) Certificate of Caste from Competent Authority.
