Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Regional Government Film and Television Institute (DBHRGFTI) Guwahati has released the official notification for Admission into various Diploma Courses of Acting, Film and Video Editing, and Sound Engineering courses in DBHRGFTI, Guwahati, Assam for the session 2022-2023. Interested and eligible candidates who wants to pursue their career in the field of film-making, acting and sound may apply online here. Eligibility Criteria of DBHRGFTI Diploma Courses Admission
1. Diploma in Audiography and Sound Engineering
Duration: 3 Years
Eligibility Criteria: 10+2 passed in Science subject or equivalent, securing minimum aggregate of 50% (SC/ST-45%)
2. Diploma in Motion Picture Photography
Duration: 3 Years
Eligibility Criteria: 10+2 passed in Science subject or equivalent, securing minimum aggregate of 50% (SC/ST-45%)
3. Diploma in Film and Video Editing
Duration: 3 Years
Eligibility Criteria: 10+2 passed in any discipline, securing minimum aggregate of 50% (SC/ ST-45%)
4. Diploma in Applied Acting (Film & TV)
Duration: 2 Years
Eligibility Criteria: 10+2 passed in any discipline or equivalent.
Age Limit: Candidate must be of maximum 24 years as on 1st July 2022. For SC/ ST category, maximum age limit is 27 years.
Selection Process of DBHRGFTI Admission
The final selection will be done by evaluating on the performances in the written test, viva-voce and mark scored by the candidates in their 10th and 10+2 final examination.
1) 20% marks scored by the candidate in his/ her 10th examination and 20% marks scored by a candidate in 10+2 examination will be taken into consideration.
2) Online Viva-voce: 60 marks
Medical Examination: Candidates selected for admission will be required to produce a certificate of physical fitness from a medical officer before they are admitted to the Institute. The medical standards prescribed for admission are as follows:
i) Eye sight: Must be in the range of +2.5 and -2.5.
ii) Hearing ability: Ability to here whisper at a distance of 30 cms. The standard regarding eye sight is relaxable in exceptional cases, if the medical officer certifies that the candidate does not suffer from any other diseases related to vision and provided the vision can be corrected to normal with glasses.
Application Fee: An application fee of Rs. 500/-only (Five hundred) is to be deposited digital payment mode by scanning the QR Code given in the official prospectus.

Interested candidates may download the Application Form from www.dbhrgfti.assam.gov.in. Scanned and filled up Application Form along with following copies of documents should be mailed to admissiondbhrgfti@gmail.com on or before stipulated date.

Bhupen Hazarika Regional Government Film and Television Institute, formerly known as the Jyoti Chitraban Film and Television Institute, is the only government-owned film institute in northeastern India located at Sila, Changsari in Assam.
